Over the sixteen years of building Sol, our team has heard a common concern among the many homeowners and businesses we engage with: they would like to access renewable energy but face significant obstacles. Their roofs are too shady, unsuitable, or prohibitively expensive for solar panels. They lease apartments, condos, or office space where solar is incompatible.
For larger businesses, the financial complexity of a PPA or solar lease is overwhelming. Companies find they have limited ways to enable their supply chain partners and their employees to participate in renewable energy.
It was amid these expressions of customer need that Sustainable Choice was born— a community approach to make renewable energy accessible and affordable for everyone.

An Extension of Our Mission
We work with some of the largest companies in the world to enable them to purchase 100% of their electricity from renewable energy projects. This has been our core strength and stems from our company mission to accelerate the transition to a clean energy future and invest in local communities. With the creation Sustainable Choice, we are taking that core strength and mission and extending it to empower anyone, anywhere, to participate in the shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy. We tried to put together something fresh, that tackles the most common hurdles so everyone can engage with the transition to a 100% carbon-free future. We connect homeowners and businesses directly with renewable energy projects. We give them the option to add clean energy to the grid – no matter where you live or work.
Energy + Impact For All
Everyone who supports renewable energy through Sustainable Choice also invests in community impact. A portion of every purchase is dedicated to the Sol Systems Community Impact Fund to support projects aimed at creating jobs and improving the lives of people in underserved communities or those disproportionately impacted by climate change. These community impact funds support environmental education, ecosystem restoration and stewardship, local job training, and energy efficiency in communities across the United States. Additionally, Sol Systems works with our corporate clients to invest with Sol into the communities around our renewable energy projects to drive localized impact.
